insta.friday!

It’s here: Friday! And March! And – dare I breathe this out loud? - less than three weeks until Spring. Shhhh.

I heard birdies chirping while I ate breakfast yesterday. And it was actually not dark while I drove to work this week. It’s really happening!

But back to Friday: nothing but my cell phone pictures to show you what I’ve been up to this week. I’m kellisamson on Instagram if you’d like to follow me and see all these pics first each week!

It’s funny what some quiet will do to a girl.

I returned last Sunday afternoon from some much-needed silence. Not in one of these colorful canoes {too rainy}, sadly. But it’s funny to put that huge amount of quiet up against the craziness that is a week with your family and normal life. It made me realize I have some priority-shifting to do; namely, I need more sleep. I am going to have to let some things go.

It’s scary.

Anyone want to grade my essays? This would help me get to bed much, much earlier! Thanks. You’re so kind!

Ben Affleck on "Vanity Fair"I put this up in my classroom Monday morning. I told my students that another student gave it to me like this after he won at the Oscars, but you know that was a lie.

I think they know it was a lie.

I need a high school locker and some tape. I could have a lot of fun hanging things up inside! Do you remember your high school locker decor? There was a poem cut out from Sassy magazine in mine called “Why I Like Him.” Loved that poem. Still have it. The best thing to grace my locker, though, was the YM Magazine centerfold of Marky-Mark in his Calvin Klein undies.

Today, though, no Mark Wahlberg. It’s all Ben.

Me, circa 1990Grandmas are wonderful creatures. They find pictures like this and then gift them to you.

This was taken the summer after 7th grade in my backyard in Connecticut. Notice my Keds without the laces – a nod to Debbie Gibson’s style. And that was some big hair. Still is, but that was before I discovered hair products. Oy.

My little brother was distressed that I shared this pic with him this week.

Subaru BratWow. Saw this Subaru Brat in the Costco parking lot this week.

Nice.

I briefly dated a rock climber named James in college, and he drove one just like this, but in yellow. Our second date was rock climbing, and then he didn’t call me again. He should’ve had a warning label: Serious Rock Climbers Only, Please.

Pfttttt.

Duck FlatsSpeaking of Costco, looky what I found. For $25, this Olympia chick was not going to leave these babies behind.

Duck Boots, 2.0.

I’ll be wearing these for a while, it looks like – rain as far as the eye can see in the forecast. But Spring is right around the corner! I will hold onto that.

Happy March! May you be very lucky.

xo,

Mrs. Fresh Scratch

  1. ‘Grandmas are wonderful creatures’ Touché. :)

  2. Holy hair! Grandmas find the best historical pics, don’t they?! Loving the Ben heart, too. Have a fabulous weekend, friend!

    • Yep! Grandmas are like little historians of your life. I did have a fab weekend – it ended with reading the entire “People” Oscar issue in a half an hour. Lots of good pics of your boy and mine! Hope your weekend was a grand adventure!

  3. I came back from vacation with thoughts about priorities too, nothing new but louder in my head, but it’s TOUGH! Send me stack of those essays and I’ll send you a few canvases to paint! Deal??
