Happy Friday! Happy three-day weekend! Will you be having a day of service in honor of Dr. King on Monday? Tell me about it!
I want to thank you for all of your support regarding my decision yesterday. I felt 99% sure when I wrote about it, but you all pushed me into the hundredth percentile. I humbly and graciously thank you. I am so lucky to have so much support and enthusiasm around me.
For right now, though, I have a sick kid. Seems it’s finally struck our house. Maybe I knocked on wood a few too many times this week when boasting about how healthy we’d been. Whoops! Looks like there will be a lot of kid stuff playing on my tv for the next day or so {right? it won’t be much longer, right??}.
Friday means linking up over here…
…to show you the little moments I’ve snapped on my cell phone this past week.
I feel very lucky that I even have anything to show you, considering at about this time last Friday my phone decided to try-out for the Olympic high-dive, using my mug of tea as a diving well.
Silly phone – the Olympics are for humans!
I’m happy to report that my phone is back to 100% awesomeness, thanks to time, rice, canned air, and time, time, and more time.
I baked these very soft, very fudgy, very choc-o-holic cookies last Friday to ease the pain of my phone debacle. I used my iPad to instagram it. I was so glad, since I am pretty much addicted to Instagram. And chocolate.
Loving the mother/daughter group that Teensy and I are a part of. Last weekend, she and I had all six moms and daughters over. After about half a year of just the moms meeting and getting to know each other, it was time for the girls to meet, too. It was so sweet to see them all hushed and peeking together at their new mother/daughter journals, Just Between Us: A No-Stress, No-Rules Journal for Girls and Their Moms.
Each girl taught us a game outside. Can I just tell you I was sore for the next two days? Playing tag will do that to me, apparently.
Are you part of a Mother/Daughter project? Our group was inspired by the book The Mother-Daughter Project: How Mothers and Daughters Can Band Together, Beat the Odds, and Thrive Through Adolescence.
There’s no preschool for Teensy-Weensy, so Mondays tend to be spent with Grandma, Oma, or Auntie Susan. In pajamas. Even after I get home at lunch. Is there a better way to wile away an afternoon than coloring?
I think it is so adorable that she loves to color on her tummy with her feet in the air like that, but I am definitely biased.
We had a snowy afternoon one day this past week. Just a nice, gentle snowfall that made a pretty dusting on everything.
It was time for cocoa with whipped cream and sprinkles.
Teensy doesn’t know it, but her daddy gives her piano lessons. Here they are one night, giving us a performance of “Heart and Soul.”
So cute.
Also so cute? Sunny yellow tights on a rainy day. When I picked Teensy-Weensy up from preschool, I’d never had so many small people flock to me.
They all wanted to touch my yellow tights. It was a little disconcerting!
We checked out the new indoor play space called Piper’s Playground yesterday. What a blast! I am going to tell you all about it next week.
My dear, knowledgeable friend Emily has her parent/personal coaching office upstairs from all the toys. Doesn’t it look comfy? I think it’s the perfect place to cozy up and let her help you figure things out, whether it’s about you or your parenting. Click here for more information on her coaching services. You don’t even have to live nearby to benefit – she does phone sessions! Working with Emily last year truly changed my life, and I can’t recommend her enough.
Wishing you a happy weekend! We have kleenex at the ready, because we all seem to be caught by the sniffles! Let’s hope it’s short-lived.

oh, thank you so much for the shout out!
So glad you came to see it (and loved it). Hope the sniffles get tired and don’t jump to the rest of your family.
We’ve all got ‘em, but still having happy memories of our fun at Piper’s!
That Mother-Daughter Project looks like something I will for sure need to check out. And I so love that she doesn’t know she’s getting piano lessons. Perfect!! Have a great weekend
I love the idea of this group/project because it basically is in place to help you get through the rocky teenage years when they come along. And we all need all the insurance we can get in that arena!
LOVE the mother-daughter group you girls have going on. would have loved to do that as a kid, but look forward to hopefully joining one in the future. came across your blog from jeanett and i’ll be back for sure.
Thanks, Stephanie! I just checked out your site – you have beautiful photography!
Sounds like a busy week! I hope you all have a chance to rest and get well now. Take care, Joann.
Thanks, Joann. The husband has gotten the worst of it (thus far), so we have been holed-up at home allll weekend. It has been nice, minus the sick part! Hope you are enjoying the start of your week!
