First, let’s shout from the rooftops -
Ben Affleck one some Golden Globes for “Argo” last night!!!!!!!!
I went to bed one happy girl.
I chronicled my intense love for the film here. Still haven’t seen it? Why not?! Get out there!
And now, back to our previously scheduled program…
It’s Monday {as you’re probably well-aware}, and it’s that time that I hook you up with some ideas for your grocery list. Get out your pencil! Ready?
I tried out The Pioneer Woman’s latest incarnation of her delicious – and deliciously famous – cinnamon rolls last week, called her “orange sweet rolls.” They are from her second cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Food from My Frontier. Just like her cinnamon rolls, these were super-easy to make. And, like her cinnamon rolls, we ate them for dinner.
They have tons of orange marmalade in them – which my kids hate, but didn’t seem to even bat an eye at in this form. They were drenched in an icing that contained lots of fresh orange juice. Delectable.
I cubed up some ham and through it in some scrambled eggs, too. I guess you’ve gotta have some protein at dinner, right?
Mr. Fresh Scratch had written “Best Grilled Sandwich Ever,” or something like that, on our menu last week. Here it is.
It was cheddar and apple.
He was like, “What? This is the best ever?”
But it tasted like heaven to me because I did not have to make it.
A special shout-out to my daughter Teensy, who supervised as our team made chicken soup Friday night all together, which helped bring me out of my iPhone-debacle funk. No picture, as my phone was incapacitated at the time. Just know that it was an amazing bowl of love.

Oh that Ben Aflack…
…so…
…dreamy…
Aff-leck, Mr.
I LOVE orange marmalade! Makes me miss my orange trees in AZ.
Will have to try that recipe.
I had forgotten you’d lived in AZ. I would love citrus trees!
Cheddar and apple? Was it really heaven?! And three cheers for Ben Affleck!
It really was heaven. I made my film students watch his acceptance speech. I was gushing. There is no end to the fun they make of me for my Ben crush and my Harrison Ford fixation…
That’s fantastic and what a cool teacher to integrate into class!
I hope they thought I was cool!
How could they not?!
